Bollington project - underway!

There was a great turn out for the first Bollington Skate Park Meeting. Thanks to all for comming! All agreed that the current facilities are too small and dangerous, and all wanted to see something bigger and better. MSPG outlined a plan to move it forward. And all were asked to think of what was needed. So far essentials are a good miniramp, roll in and jump box for BMXers and a nice easy area for beginners. Any ideas send to us or add as a comment below. Anyhow, it should fit nicely with Poynton and Macc. Watch this space....

West Park - Funding!

We have just had word from the council, we have secured a good part of the funding needed for the west park project!

The first phase will be repair of the bumps and tarmacking the grassed areas inside the suicide track. Should start soon. Second phase will depend on our WREN funding bid. - and this is for more furniture and maybe even a wider ramp. We'll hear about that in March.

So a big thanks is due to Carole and Marianne at MBC for working so hard to secure this.

Southpark Latest - Tenders in

Yesterday was a momentous day for Macc Skaters, as for 3 hours in the afternoon, members of MSPG graded the tendered designs for Southpark. At the moment all we can say is that some of the designs were really great, and no matter who wins the contract, Macc skaters will get a great facility.

Features that were common to all designs included knarly looking bowls and nice street areas with some unusual features. We'll find out the winning tender this week, and we'll both post the designs up here and give a copy to Hopp for comments.

Bollington - Open meeting

There will be an Open meeting at 6.30pm Thursday 29th Janurary at the Bolly Rec. Pavillion on Adlington Road.

We need as many people as we can to attend this meeting to impress on the council the need for better facilities in the town. The more people present, the better our chances,.... SO YOUR PRESENCE COUNTS.

There will be representatives from the town council, and other groups and we will discuss where a new park will go, what will go in it (street or bowl?,) rough size, and we'll get together a list of user names to support our funding applications.

So tell your mates, tell your mates mates, and your mates mates dog.
