Poynton latest.... Bowl pics

Here's a pic of the bowl... Something for everyone on that one. Don't
miss the grand opening jam on May Bank holiday Monday. 12.30 - 4.

Poynton latest.... Looking good

Most of the works look pretty much finished at Deva now. The grass
needs to bed in and grow but the concreting looks all finished. Here's
the "skate" path....

Windmill park BMX latest...

Well construction looks like it is well and truely underway. Nice
start ramp, and plenty of humps. Let's hope it rides and jumps like a
first class track....

Macc Forest Downhill

For those of you out there with big bikes and big balls take a look at the Macc forest downhill. These guys have rebuilt the DH track in Macc forest with the blessing of the forest rangers. They are organising through facebook and the link is here. Looks like they organise dig days and DH days. The route is locked most of the time, but keyholders open it up fairly regulally by the looks. You'll need a full facey and probably pads. Enjoy...

Poynton Latest - Fire set!

Police have reported that a small fire was set on tuesday night on the bowl at Poynton!

A fire is perhaps the one thing that can damage the concrete, as it will crack then pit, making it unridable, so if you see anyone even thinking about it, set them straight asap.

AGM

18 riders and a number of others turned out for the MSPG AGM.

The meeting took about an hour and a half and covered all the sites and spots that are being developed around Macc. Mark gave a brief review of the year including the stunning fact that this year and last over 1/4 million pounds has or will be spent on skate and BMX sites around the town. An amazing achievement for a group that is little over 18 months old. A new executive was elected with Gav and Hayley becoming the new chairs, Mark and Matt the new secretaries, and Ralph and Dan continuing as Treasurers.

Dates were announced for forthcoming Jams including:

Deva Fields opening Jam. May bank Holiday 12.30 -4pm.

West Park Sunday 30th August

Full minuets can be found here. Please get in touch if you need more info.

Moss riders - Save your spot!

Have you been riding the woods off Congleton road, near the playing fields? Do you know those that have? then this is for you....

Just had a call from MBC; local residents have reported some cheeky and extensive ramp building in the woods- they've checked it out, and are mightly impressed! So instead of flattening it, they want to make it bigger!, but they need to work with you guys on the design so that its safe. So you and MBC need to parle asap. - if you dont you'll run the risk of them flattening it instead!

Contact us through the email address on the right and we'll give you the contact details you need.

Hows that for cheeky?

Poynton - sprayed up

Well it looks like Poynton is now fully sprayed up with just the skate path and other ground works to finish. The contractors recon with at least another week or two before that's sorted, then we need to wait for the council to issue the satefy cert. Not long now!

Hopp closed!

Very sad news emerged last week, that Hopp has closed. We would like to send out our deepest sympathies to Donna and all her staff, who have put so much into the scene over the last few years. Everybody is heartbroken, especially as this news comes at a time where there is so much positive stuff happening elsewhere around town. We'll try and catch up with Donna at the AGM next week and see if there is anything that can be done to ressurect the shop, but for now our thoughts are with Donna and co.
